Day 2: Urban Cities

A UN report has listed Nairobi as one of the worlds most unequal cities with extremely high disparities between the rich and poor. The UN state of the world report 2010 lists Nairobi alongside Lagos, Johannesburg and Bogotá in Colombia as cities that feature some of the highest number of slums with little development in extreme low income areas and massive developments in higher income areas. The report was released at the ongoing world forum on cities in Brazil. Beatrice Marshall is attending the global meeting and looks at the consequences of disparities between the urban rich and poor in the Brazilian capital Rio de Janeiro.

  1. we are good at looking at other countries and cities yet we fail to do alot in our very own so that we can be an example to the world. Our leaders just love travelling the world but learn nothing from them travels. total waste of tax payers money.
