A requiem mass for the nine girls who died in the Moi Girls School fire is currently underway at the institution .
Deputy President William Ruto’s wife, Rachel, and Education Principal Secretary Belio Kipsang, Kibra MP Ken Okoth and Emuhaya MP Omboko Milemba are among dignitaries present at the memorial service.
Bodies of all the girls were burnt beyond recognition and were only identified through a DNA exercise that was completed on Tuesday.
A Form One student accused of having started the fire that burnt her nine colleagues at Moi Girls High School has been charged with nine counts of murder.
The girl, aged 14, was arraigned before Justice Luka Kimaru where she denied the charges and was released on a 200,000 shillings cash bail among other conditions.
